Nairobi, Kenya – April 5, 2024 – Celebrated hip-hop icon Collo is set to headline the Beats & Deals Street Storm, a high-energy street performance in collaboration with Distinct Sound Master. Joining him on stage will be Razini, the rising singer, songwriter, and rapper, alongside MC Riziki and DJ McLaren. The event kicks off at 5 PM, promising a night of live music, electrifying performances, and urban culture.

A Powerful Collaboration in Kenyan Hip-Hop

Collo will deliver an exclusive performance featuring tracks from his newly released EP, D.E.P Vol. 1 (Dope). He will be joined by Razini, whom he first performed with during the Fanisi Experiment Show at Geco Cafe in October 2023. Since then, Collo has been mentoring Razini in both music and the business of the industry. Their joint performance at the Street Storm aims to recreate the magic of the Tuendele cypher, one of Kenya’s most legendary rap moments.

Collo, a pioneer in the Kenyan music scene, first gained recognition as a member of the award-winning group Kleptomaniax before launching a successful solo career. His chart-topping hits include “You Guy” (with P-Unit), “Party Don’t Stop” (with Camp Mulla), and “Bazokizo” (with Bruz Newton).

Celebrating 20+ Years in Music

As he teases upcoming projects, Collo reflected on hip-hop’s influence and his journey in the industry:

“Hip-hop is one of the most influential cultures and musical genres of our time. It’s now 50 years plus, and as I celebrate over 20 years in the recording industry, I’m asking—what’s next?”

The answer lies in his D.E.P. trilogy (Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3)—a reintroduction of Collo to a new audience while honoring his legacy. The title, Dope-Expressive-Priceless (D.E.P.), is a nod to the name he started with in his career and a gift to his loyal fans.

Beyond Music: Collo’s Expanding Influence

Beyond his musical achievements, Collo has made a mark in media and entertainment, including roles as a radio and TV presenter and as a creative copywriter in advertising.

Last year, his team hosted an exclusive listening party at Mageuzi Hub, Kilimani, on October 26, 2024. More live performances, rehearsals, and studio sessions are in the works, leading up to a potential album release in August 2025.

The Beats & Deals Street Storm is just the beginning of this new era for Collo—bringing together raw talent, experience, and the energy of Kenya’s hip-hop scene.
