The Head of State will be in the coast region to usher in New Year at the port city.
Nyali legislator Mohamed Ali alias Jicho Pevu confirmed President William Ruto will be at the coastal city during the New Year festivities.
He said they expected the Head of State to land at the port city on New Year’s eve.
He was speaking during the launch of Mombasa ni yangu program famously known as county casual workers at the Treasury Square garden in Mvita constituency, Mombasa County. Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Nassir presided over the function for over 2000 casual workers.
Other leaders at the launch were Aharub Khatri, Mombasa Senator Mohamed Faki and Jomvu lawmaker Badi Twalib and several county assembly elected leaders.
He said this was his first official function to attend since he was reelected to serve his second term as Nyali MP.
“Let us give support to Abdulswamad’s administration to enable him deliver to the electorate and fulfil his campaign pledges,” he pointed out.
The lawmaker said they have resolved to work as a team irrespective of political affiliations.
Jicho Pevu defended the unity move saying it is aimed at embracing development projects in the port city.
He pointed out they have resolved to convert the number of the bickering electorate into a working nation.
“We want to ensure the electorate benefit from the election campaign pledges before we seek for re-ection in 2027,” he added.
