Waithaka Member of County Assembly Antony Kiragu has called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate and take action against Kipipiri Member of Parliament Wanjiku Muhia over remarks she allegedly made during a campaign tour in Ol Kalou.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Kiragu expressed concern that the statements could heighten ethnic tensions, particularly in cosmopolitan areas across the country.
The MCA also urged the NCIC to closely monitor rallies organized by leaders of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), whom he accused of making inflammatory statements ahead of the July 16 by-election.
The closely contested race has attracted significant political attention and heightened tensions as major parties seek to test their influence in the region.
The remarks attributed to the Kipipiri MP have sparked public debate and placed her under increased scrutiny, with observers suggesting the controversy could influence voter perceptions and voting patterns in the upcoming by-election.
