CFAO Mobility Kenya today unveiled a KES 48,535,200 sponsorship and development package for the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally, reinforcing its dedication to community development, youth empowerment, and technical skills training in Kenya. Over the past six years, CFAO’s investment in local motorsport has exceeded KES 153 million.
“We are committed to developing motorsport in Kenya at all levels—from grassroots talent to technical expertise—while creating opportunities that benefit communities,” said Arvinder Reel, Managing Director of CFAO Mobility Kenya.
Empowering Youth and Local Engineers
As part of its community-focused initiatives, CFAO Mobility donated two FIA-approved Toyota Starlet rally cars to the Safari Rally Training School Project.
Built in collaboration with Kenyan engineers at KES 34.5 million and compliant with FIA Rally 5 standards, the cars were officially handed over to the President of Kenya at State House.
Additionally, a prototype Cross Car for drivers aged 12–17, constructed at KES 3.7 million, will provide young talent with a structured pathway from grassroots rallying to professional competition.
“We have partnered with South Africa’s Botterill Motor Sport to develop a rally training curriculum. Training camps and curriculum handover to the Safari Rally Secretariat will ensure that the program continues well beyond this year’s rally,” Reel explained.
Global and Local Expertise Unite
Fans also enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Toyota Gazoo Racing Team (TGR) drivers, including Elfyn Evans, 2025 Safari Rally winner and current WRC leader; Samo Pajari; 24-year-old rising Kenyan star; and Juha Kankkunen, 1985 Safari Rally winner and Deputy Team Principal.
Principal Secretary for Sports, Mr. Elijah Mwangi, praised CFAO Mobility Kenya:
“Their donation of rally cars, training programs, and Kenya’s first affordable FIA Cross Car is helping develop local talent and technical skills. Collaboration with TVETA will further build Kenya’s capacity for motorsport engineering and production.”
Toyota Hilux: Reliability Meets Community Impact
The Toyota Hilux continues as the “double zero” and “triple zero” opening cars, demonstrating quality, durability, and reliability, while showcasing CFAO Mobility’s commitment to both community development and Kenya’s motorsport industry.
Through investment in sponsorship, youth programs, and technical innovation, CFAO Mobility Kenya is creating opportunities for local talent, empowering communities, and shaping Kenya’s motorsport future.
