President William Ruto has said the government is leveraging technology to deliver public programmes efficiently, transparently and without corruption, as part of efforts to ensure equal opportunities for all young people.

Speaking during the launch of the Nyota Start-Up Capital disbursement at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos town, the President said the government is using technology to deliver programmes efficiently, transparently and free of corruption, adding that opportunity is now based on merit rather than connections.

The President noted that programmes such as the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) have been fully digitised to ensure that every young person has a fair chance to benefit from business capital support, on-the-job training and recognition of prior learning.

During the event, President Ruto launched the disbursement of KSh147.5 million in start-up capital to 5,901 youth beneficiaries drawn from Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties, saying the funds will empower young entrepreneurs to start businesses, create jobs and take control of their economic future.
