The High Court in Nairobi has issued temporary orders halting the execution of a judgment and decree against Senator Gloria Orwoba pending the hearing of an urgent application she filed on July 18, 2025.
The orders were granted in a case where Orwoba is appealing a lower court’s decision in Civil Case No. MCCC/E4352/2023, originally heard at the Milimani Commercial Magistrate Court.
The contested judgment was issued on July 14, 2025.Justice Linus P. Kassan, sitting at the Milimani Law Courts, certified the matter as urgent and granted prayer 2 of Orwoba’s application.
This means that the execution of the judgment and all related orders will be temporarily suspended until the matter is heard and determined inter partes on October 16, 2025.
The legal battle pits Senator Orwoba against Jeremiah Nyegenye, the respondent in the High Court appeal (Case No. HCCA/E733/2025).
The court has also issued a penal notice, warning that any disobedience or failure to comply with the court order will lead to legal consequences for those involved. The case continues to unfold, with parties expected to present their arguments before the court in October.
