Nairobi, June 17, 2025 — More than 50 patients have received free eye treatment during a successful surgical camp held at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, in partnership with CHEPS and the BETA initiative.
The camp provided diagnosis and treatment for various eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, heteromyopia, and other vision disorders.
Hospital CEO Dr. Martin Wekesa Wafula praised the initiative, noting it is part of Governor Johnson Sakaja’s broader health agenda for Nairobi residents.
“This is just the beginning. More camps like this will be held regularly to reach even more patients,” Dr. Wafula said.
The eye camp reflects ongoing efforts to expand access to specialized care for underserved communities in Nairobi.
