As automation continues to reshape home life, LG Electronics is positioning itself at the forefront of smart household solutions, offering a glimpse into the future of parenting support through technology.

During the Smart Mommy Parenting Summit held at the Sarit Centre in Nairobi, LG showcased a range of intelligent appliances aimed at simplifying domestic responsibilities for modern families.

The summit, themed “Real Tools, Real Talk, Real Growth,” brought together parents, family lifestyle experts, and technology leaders for a day of practical conversations and interactive experiences.

With studies predicting that up to 40% of household chores — including cooking, laundry, and cleaning — could be automated in the next decade, LG’s participation underlined how innovation is increasingly central to family life.

Partnering with its local distributor Hotpoint Appliances Ltd, LG exhibited its latest smart home lineup, including AI-powered washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, and entertainment systems.

Attendees got hands-on experience with products connected through LG’s ThinQ platform, which enables users to monitor, control, and automate appliances remotely.

“LG is committed to empowering families with purposeful technology that eases daily life,” said Jane Kariuki, Head of Marketing at LG Electronics East Africa. “From our intuitive washing machines to energy-efficient refrigerators, every product is designed to save time and make parenting more manageable.”

Komal Dawani, Head of Marketing at Hotpoint Appliances, emphasized the company’s role in supporting Kenyan households: “We know the challenges of raising children while running a home. Through our partnership with LG, we aim to deliver reliable, innovative appliances that provide everyday convenience and peace of mind.”

Smart Mommy Kenya, the summit organizers, praised LG for responding to the real challenges parents face with practical solutions that promote efficient living.

The product showcase included televisions, soundbars, ovens, and smart fridges — all integrated to communicate and perform tasks intelligently. From adjusting indoor climates to optimizing laundry cycles and tracking groceries, LG’s ecosystem offered a vision of what parenting could look like in the age of automation.

As home technology continues to evolve, LG’s message was clear: smart living isn’t just about convenience — it’s about creating more time for what matters most.
