The Nairobi Hospital has announced sweeping governance reforms aimed at restoring public trust and enhancing service delivery, following recent concerns over internal conflicts and a criminal investigation linked to the institution.

In a press briefing on Monday, newly appointed Board Chair Barcley Onyambu acknowledged the concerns but dismissed them as isolated incidents. He stressed that the hospital remains committed to transparency, accountability, and high standards in healthcare.

“Leadership confidence is critical for an institution as vital as The Nairobi Hospital,” Onyambu stated. “The Board remains united and guided by shared values and strategic oversight. The recent integrity issues do not reflect the institution as a whole.”

Acting Chief Executive Officer Felix Osano echoed Onyambu’s sentiments, saying the hospital is focused on stability and maintaining its reputation as Kenya’s premier healthcare provider.

“We are taking bold and deliberate steps to address challenges and reaffirm our leadership in the healthcare sector,” Osano said.

As part of the ongoing reforms, the hospital has reconstituted its board with new members to strengthen governance and accountability. Onyambu expressed confidence that the new leadership team would chart a path toward renewed excellence.

“These reforms are about more than internal restructuring; they’re about rebuilding confidence and ensuring that integrity remains central to our operations,” he added.

While the hospital did not disclose details about the ongoing criminal investigation, it assured patients and stakeholders that services remain uninterrupted and that quality care continues to be delivered.
