Interior PS Urges Collaboration to Fight Petroleum Industry Illicit Trade

Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo, has today graced the State of the Petroleum and Oil Industry Briefing on combating illicit trade.

The event, focusing on the first quarter of 2024, gathered distinguished guests, colleagues from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority, and members of the Petroleum Institute of East Africa.

In his address, Dr. Omollo highlighted the crucial role of security in ensuring the safety and prosperity of the petroleum sector. He emphasized the necessity of collaboration among stakeholders to foster growth and sustainability in the industry.

“It is indeed important that we embrace an inclusive perspective and embark on a journey of collaboration in the petro leum and oil industry realm,” remarked Dr. Omollo, underscoring the significance of collective efforts in driving progress.

Referring to Kenya’s developmental goals, Dr. Omollo reiterated the pivotal role of energy in the nation’s Vision 2030 and the Ke on nya Kwanza manifesto for development. He echoed sentiments expressed by previous speakers, emphasizing the centrality of the petroleum industry in advancing the country’s economic agenda.
