Manager of Port Operations in Kenya Rosemary Mureithi through a gazette notice announced a major auction scheduled for August 10, 2022 at the Kenyan coastal ports.
The statement provided an ultimatum of 30 days for the cars and goods to be collected failure to which they’ll be auctioned on the planned date.
Among the list of vehicles to be auctioned include a Mercedes Benz, Subaru Impreza, Mazda,Volvo, Volkswagen, Toyota Land Rover amlng other major car brands.
The auction will also allow bidding of household items such ad furniture, shoes, clothes, solar panels and television sets.
Interested Kenyans should visit the ports between August 4vand August 5 to have a view of the goods before the grand auction.
“Interested buyers may view the goods at MICT, MCT, IIL, ALT, CNT, UNI, RLC, CCF, POR, MIT, SIG, KEN and FPC on Aug 4-5 during office hours,” the statement read.
The statement also announced the destruction of other vehicles on Aug 8 deemed to be condemned. Among the brands to be destroyed is a Range Rover Chassis, Toyota Premio, Impreza Sports Wagon and Mazda Tribute.
The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) usually disposes off uncollected goods annually to create room for more incoming goods.
