Kenyan customers using Showmax will not be required to buy bundles separately when subscribing to the video on demand platform.
This is following a partnership with Telecom Firm Safaricom that will now enable customer access one GB of data exclusively for Showmax streaming.
According to MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director, Nancy Matimu the deal will be valid from 1 February to 31 March 2022 and is exclusive to Safaricom customers.
“As part of its local-first strategy, Showmax tailors the content, apps, packages and partnerships to what is most important to subscribers in different countries while making it easier for Kenyans to pay for and watch their favourite shows,” said Matimu.

According to Showmax, 1GB of data will offer Kenyans around 10hrs of streaming.
“As a digital first company, we want leverage our extensive 4G coverage to enable Kenyans access a new world of content from the comfort of their phones. Through this partnership, our customers can now enjoy their favourite shows on Showmax using bundles that provide value and convenience,” said Safaricom Product Manager Iddah Rasanga.
The video on demand service provider will offer ccustomers data deals bundled with a 60-day Showmax subscription, instead of the usual 30-day subscription.
Showmax says its local-first strategy ensures that its content, apps, packages and partnerships are geared toward what subscribers in different countries.
